Troubleshooting Guide
Updated March 2021
Introduction
Welcome to this troubleshooting guide! We'll go through some common steps to troubleshooting some common hardware components that you may find as part of your Shipshape solution.
Please use the navigation to find the hardware component that requires action:
- Centralite Smart Outlets
- Develco Sensors
- Develco Hubs
1: Centralite Smart Outlets
Resetting Centralite Smart Outlets
All Centralite Smart outlets reset in the same manner.
- Disconnect the smart plug from the wall outlet
- Press the Button on the face of the outlet
- Continue to hold the power button and plug the outlet in
- The plug will briefly flash “On”, let go immediately and the plug is reset and ready to be paired back into the network
- Note: Continuing to hold the button will power it off and on and then go into a network strength test mode. It should only take 2 seconds to reset the plug.
Maximum Expected Range
All Centralite Smart Plugs will use Zigbee for communication and have a maximum line of sight (no walls or other obstacles) range of 130ft (40m) according to the documentation.
Internal testing shows a Maximum effective range is about 80ft with obstacles such as ducts, walls, etc. A Smart plug or other outlet powered Zigbee device will have to be placed in that range.
2: Develco Sensors
Resetting Develco Sensors
All Develco Sensors reset in the same manner
- Open the housing and remove any covers until you can see the battery
- Press and hold the button and continue to hold it for 30 seconds.
Note: During the 30 seconds, the LED will flash once, pause for a few seconds, flash twice, pause for a few seconds, then flash rapidly.
Note: On the Leak Detection sensors, there are 2 buttons. One is raised and the other is recessed into the body of the sensor. Press the Recessed button. If you hear it beep when you are attempting to reset, you are pressing the wrong button. - Once it starts flashing rapidly, it has been reset and is ready to be paired back into the network.
Maximum Expected Range
All Develco Sensors will use Zigbee for communication and have a maximum line of sight (no walls or other obstacles) range of 120ft (35m) according to the documentation.
Internal testing shows a Maximum effective range is about 40ft with obstacles such as ducts, walls, etc. A Smart plug or other outlet powered Zigbee device will have to be placed in that range.
3: Develco Hubs
Resetting Develco Hubs
Warning, resetting the main Gateway will require you to reset all associated sensors, smartplugs and any other hardware paired to the network. This will require you to complete a full network setup as from scratch. This is only to be performed as a last resort.
- Using a Paperclip or fine tipped pen, press and hold the Press and hold the button and continue to hold it for 30 seconds.
Note: During the 30 seconds, the Power Indicator LED after a few seconds will begin to flash rapidly, pause, then all LEDs will power off, flash and then all LEDS will turn on solid. - Once the LEDs have turned solid, the hub has been reset. Wait 5 minutes for the hub to reboot and then attempt to pair all the sensors back together.
Maximum Expected Range
Develco Gateway/Hubs can connect to devices via WIFI, Z-wave, and Zigbee. Documentation indicates maximum line of sight(no walls or other obstacles) range of 1500ft (500m).
Internal testing shows a Maximum effective range at 450ft with obstacles such as ducts, walls, etc. A Smart plug or other outlet powered Zigbee device will have to be placed in that range.
