For Homeowners
What is Shipshape?
Shipshape is an intelligent home management platform that uses AI and smart sensors to monitor your home 24/7, catch problems before they become emergencies, and connect you to trusted service professionals. The platform includes a free AI scanner app, optional smart monitoring hardware, and SAM, an AI home assistant powered by ChatGPT.
How does Shipshape monitor my home?
Shipshape monitors homes through a combination of AI analysis and optional snap-on smart sensors. The sensors attach to existing equipment (HVAC, water heater, sump pump, etc.) with no wiring or replacement. Data is analyzed 24/7 by AI that detects efficiency drops, anomalous patterns, and early signs of failure.
Do I need to install hardware?
No. The Shipshape app works standalone with AI-powered scanning and Home Health Assessments. Smart sensors are optional for 24/7 real-time monitoring. If you choose sensors, they snap onto existing equipment in about 30 minutes with no tools needed.
How much does Shipshape cost?
The AI scanner app is free. Basic monitoring starts at $5/month. Pro monitoring with smart sensors is $5–9/month. The Smart Kit hardware is a one-time purchase starting at $550. There are no contracts — cancel anytime. See full details on our pricing page.
Is my data private and secure?
Yes. Shipshape never sells your data. Your home information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Data is only shared with service professionals you explicitly authorize. Shipshape is a member of the NVIDIA Inception Program and follows enterprise-grade security practices.
What systems does Shipshape monitor?
Shipshape monitors 12+ system types: HVAC, water heaters, plumbing, electrical panels, sump pumps, dehumidifiers, crawlspaces, foundations, air quality, humidity, water leaks, and energy efficiency. The platform is hardware-agnostic and works with equipment from any manufacturer.
What happens when Shipshape detects an issue?
SAM, your AI assistant, sends an alert explaining what was detected and why it matters. You can ask follow-up questions, get troubleshooting guidance, or schedule a visit with your service pro with one tap. Your pro sees the full context before they arrive.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There are no contracts or cancellation fees. You can cancel your subscription at any time directly from the app.
For Service Professionals
How does Shipshape help my business?
Shipshape helps service pros earn recurring revenue, lift close rates, and retain more customers. Dealers on the platform report a 5-7 point increase in close rates, +$600 in additional revenue per project, and 25% higher customer retention. The platform turns one-time service calls into managed home relationships.
What does it cost for dealers?
Dealer pricing varies by volume. The SaaS layer costs $5–9/month per home, which dealers typically retail at $5–9/month. Enterprise dashboard seats are $50/user/month. Contact Shipshape for custom pricing for multi-location or PE-backed platforms.
Do I need to change my workflow?
Minimal workflow change. The Shipshape technician app adds about 2 minutes to a service visit: scan, record, score, send. It integrates bidirectionally with ServiceTitan, so customer records and equipment data sync automatically with no double entry.
How long does it take to get started?
Most dealers are onboarded and running within 2-4 weeks. Shipshape provides training materials, marketing assets, and a dedicated success manager to support the rollout.
Does Shipshape integrate with ServiceTitan?
Yes. Shipshape has a bidirectional integration with ServiceTitan. Customer records, equipment data, and service history sync automatically. Technicians work in the tools they already use.
What ROI can I expect?
Dealers using Shipshape report a 5-7 point close rate lift, +$600 additional revenue per project, +25% customer retention, and 60-80% homeowner activation rates. One regional HVAC dealer projected over $540,000 in annual revenue uplift from Shipshape.
General
Is Shipshape a smart home product?
No. Smart home products focus on convenience (lighting, voice control, thermostats). Shipshape is an intelligent home management platform focused on the health, safety, and efficiency of the home itself. It monitors critical systems like HVAC, plumbing, and electrical to prevent failures — not to automate daily tasks.
How is Shipshape different from a home warranty?
Home warranties are reactive — you file a claim after something breaks, then wait for approval. Shipshape is proactive — it monitors systems 24/7 and alerts you before failures happen. Shipshape also connects you to your trusted service pro, not a random contractor assigned by the warranty company.
Where is Shipshape available?
Shipshape is available nationwide with 150+ certified service professionals across 42 states. The AI scanner app can be downloaded and used anywhere in the United States.
Who founded Shipshape?
Shipshape was founded in 2020 by Alexander Linn, former Salesforce Einstein AI team member. The company is headquartered in Austin, Texas and is backed by industry veterans including the former CFO of Edison International and the former President of Verizon Enterprise.
